So I have decided to finally do something that I’ve been meaning to for a long time – sign up for Camp NaNoWriMo! The more eagle-eyed amongst you may have noticed that I’ve had a banner in the left-hand panel of my blog for a couple of weeks now, and that’s because I am a proud aspiring-attempting-possibly-failing novelist!
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month, and it’s held annually in November, but the organizers have added additional “Camp NaNoWriMo” months to the year, when it’s a bit more like a virtual writer’s retreat.
This month I’m attempting the traditional 50,000 word count goal, working on a lovely sci-fi novel that I’ve been having visions of for the past few months. SO.
Today was actually my first day of writing, and it’s been haaaaard. I’ve finished what I wanted to get done in terms of story today, but didn’t quite reach my word count goal. Ah well, tomorrow is another day! BUT I’ll be keeping you guys updated on my progress.
In the meantime, I made a video about how I’m planning on surviving the month ahead:
